The HOA didn`t put him in jail, his lack of respect for the law did. He wouldn’t have gone to jail if he simply stated his case to the judge. However instead he simply ignored his court date like a dumbass and had to pay the price. I feel no pity for him.

H.O.A.’s aren`t all bad. If I have to pay a little extra to keep the "crazy cat lady", the garden gnome collector, or hillbilly who parks their truck in the front yard from becoming my neighbor then so be it. Don`t like it? Don`t buy in that neighborhood; Simple as that.

BobSmooth go run into traffic. This is absolutely ridiculous. Fuck the people that fined him $1000 for brown grass. If he have shown up the judge would have said pay or go to jail. I`m guessing grandpa would have gone to jail so the point you make is a dead one. For once, I agree with Euthphryo.

HOA should use their money to help out - not sue people and waste everyone`s money (hoa`s legal, defendant`s and taxpayers`) - especially in a time of economic hardship.

Using the law to impose your ideals on other people`s property is just wrong. If you don`t like your neighbors property - move to a place where the property is owned by a 3rd party/gated-community.

This video is totally misleading of what actually happened. He went to jail for not showing up to his court date. If he went to his hearing he could have used the opportunity to explain to the judge. However I do not agree with his time in jail since his crime was petty as can be. The legal system needs to be updated so small cases like this aren`t landing good people in lockdown.

HOA sucks dick. they are always giving people shit in our neighborhood. the man living across the street from me was told he couldn`t have some wood boards up against the INSIDE of his garage door because it was blocking the windows ON the garage door, and the HOA didn`t like how it looked. an old captain down the street had a commemorative anchor standing up in his yard. he had received it as a retirement gift. he had to take it down. my own family got warning letters and what almost seemed like blackmail because we had a camper on our truck because...guess what... WE WERE GETTING READY TO GO CAMPING! the HOA sent us a letter saying it looked like we were letting people live in it, and that`s against he rules, and they said they would take action if it wasn`t moved. AND THEY INCLUDED A FUCKING PICTURE OF THE TRUCK WITH THE CAMPER ON IT!

i fucking hate those people
