Sergei Bruyukhonenko: The Dog Decapitato...

Way before Vladimir Demikhov, Bruyukhonenko's mad experiments on dogs led to the development of open-heart procedures. He developed a crude machine called the autojektor (a heart and lung machine). By using this primitive machine, Bryukhonenko kept the heads of severed dogs alive. In 1928, he displayed one of the heads in front of an audience. To prove it was real, he banged a hammer on the table. The head flinched. When a light was shone in its eyes, the eyes blinked. And when it was fed a piece of cheese, the remnants promptly popped out of the esophageal tube, much to the displeasure of disgusted viewers.

whine all you want pussies - you`d be quick enough to proclaim your backing for this experiment if you or a family member of yours needed it. Fact of the matter is, without this kind of experimentation, humanity would not progress.

How many of you check your deodorants or other cosmetic products to see whether they have been tested on animals? How many of you sit comfortably at home, realising that most of the daily items you take for granted involved pain or death to many animals?

You take this all for granted and choose to ignore this fact, comfortable in your bubbles. Well.... hopefully this video was a wake up call for you.

Heard of the ability to grow replacement bodies and stem cell research. Ultimately this will help humanity if used correctly.

To HELL with all of you idiots who tout the "Benefits to mankind" that this autrocity yeilded us!
The only thing that we "gained" from these "experiments" is Shawn Hannity and Bill O`Reily.

Things done in the name of science are not always a good thing imo. Why do we need science to tell us that we can replace natural parts with machines? We`ve done that already! It`s VERY unlikely that the people behind prosthetic parts worked off of such as these inhumane experiments, or even watched them. People like this don`t do these cruel experiments for humanity, but rather out of a sick curiosity, like a mental disease.

And to h3rd, I say this to you:

As conscious beings, we must draw the line behind what is and isn`t `humane`. Plants have life, is it wrong to kill them? And even once we draw that line as a society, every1 has a personal line that they draw. ANNNDDD on top of that, everyone cant make it their personal vendetta to stop every `injustice` that violates that line.

Come to think of it, aren`t you sitting in your own little bubble, feeling free to make aggressive comments without having to stick up for them? Humans need bubbles, the world is just too horrible, as seen here, to live without them.

Fuck science, fuck stupid ass research, if you suffered severe trauma to your body you were meant to die! not have your head cut off and kept alive for prolonged suffering...
this shit is a perfect demonstrations of the non-evolved fucked up conscience of the ignorant human of the past.
WE SHALL NEVER APPROVE THIS SORT OF BEHAVIOR EVER AGAIN.
NOT IF WE WANT TO BETTER OURSELVES AS A SPECIES IN THE COSMIC UNIVERSE.

Things done in the name of science are performed in the name of knowledge and for the progression of mankind. For instance, even the clothes you wear were created through science for the benefit of mankind. As a conscious being, I know where I stand as a human. The question is, do you? You seem to come up with these comments saying this video shows a cruel and barbaric scene. Yeah, sucks to be the dog but NOT ONE PERSON has commented on how fantastic this experiment was and how successful it was, given the date it was performed. Fact of the matter is, whilst it`s still against the law to perform dangerous experiments on humans (even volunteers), if a live sample is required then we would have to look at using animals. Hey, you Americans should understand right, as your president has already veto`d and overridden plans to breed lifeless human embryo`s for science.
But look at the animal kingdom, where you see animals experimenting on other animals (where the mother needs to train their young). Where you see cases of infanticide occurring on a regular basis so the male can once again get the female into season. Where animals play with their victims prior to killing them (as can be seen from studies with wildlife). The fact still remains, what we (humans) are doing is far more civilised now than it was at the time this video was shot.
You may say that animals do the acts they do to survive. However, isn`t this experiment an act of achieving survival following decapitation? Because let`s face it, I`ve yet to hear of someone surviving decapitation.

And consider this, based on your arguments, are you saying that life support machines, dialysis machines and defibrillators should not be used? These were tested on animals and are PROVEN to save lives everyday!

Did I not say where I stood?

I said, in a nutshell:

A) This experiment was inhumane.
B) Though it may have been conducted in the name of science, it did not progress it in any way that an other, less grotesque, experiments could have easily done.

Animals `experimenting`(if you can call it that) upon their pray is what animals do. Animals do lots of stuff that`s inhumane, probably because they`re not human.

And you`re right, what we do now is far more civilized then this video, so maybe you do agree that this experiment was crude and uncalled for.

And for your last shot, your question is hard to gauge. Do I think animal testing is, if when required, a good thing if it saves human lives? Of course! But this experiment went beyond that, and took means not needed to produce a result.
