With any luck, Russia, China, or the US will start throwing nukes and any survivors can just start all over again.

Or US delivered nukes to India in response to Pakistani provocation (to retaliate Obama`s drone attacks) could cause Iran to feel threatend by israeli non-nukes (which means they deny having the third largest amount of nukes next to the 2 major players in the Cold War).
Which means survivors will have to deal with nuclear waste (like brazil and japan does).
