Dunno why your saying to "Beware" of net neutrality when its the law keeping companies like Comcast from slowing our connections when viewing certain websites. People need to be FOR net neutrality, not against it. Even says so in the vid you posted.

This won`t ever happen. It`s just a bunch of noobs talking about some new wires that have already been in place for a long time. The internet isn`t going to get rebuilt rofl. This video reminds me of that southpark episode where the internet was all dried up. and this :)

The Internet is indeed the new "target". It is the only thing that is saving us right now. Without the Internet, we would only have corporate "news". We would have no Spiked Humor, YouTube, etc. It is really as simple as a "terrorist" attack of hackers for the government to then say they have to regulate/control it for our "safety". All the ground work has been laid and it is only a matter of time.

The time to do something about these things is over. We should all have been thinking about and trying the shit we are today, 20 years ago. Think about it. What of all the things; protesting, writing our congressman, putting up videos, joining groups, etc. has had any success slowing or stopping what the people in charge are doing to our sovereignty on a daily basis? None of it. All we; as a collective are trying, is ineffective and a waste of resources at best.

The only thing that would work now; today, is something so drastic and dramatic that nobody would be on board. The only strategic thing that would work at this time is to hit them where it hurts, money/profit. For example, to hit big oil companies hard enough to make them listen to what the people want would be something huge like 80% of the population staging something like a "sit in" and not driving or using any oil driven resources for a week. That would turn their head but there is no way at this time to get that many people on board. Or something like most of the military staging a coup and overthrowing the government and we all know that will not happen. Even the people on this site that agree that there is a huge vacuum of a problem, cant agree on what to do about it.

I am afraid the only thing we can plan now, is how to survive the coming terror and how to restructure this once great nation long after the shit hits the fan. I am very sorry to have to say that but believe it with all my heart. Too little, too late. We have to change the system, not fight it. You can keep stomping the ants that come out from under the refrigerator but until you get the piece food from behind it, they will just keep coming back.

Just tell people it`s going to take away their porn, and they might start a riot. Also I watched a video of something like this that was posted 3 years ago, so keep on fighting it.

In my opinion the FCC is the reason for all these stupid laws and regulations, and what we can and cant say, and why the fat cats control the media, I say we do to the FCC what our forefathers did to the British back when America was still a colony. Burn the FCC motherfuckers to the ground!

If this actually ever does happen, I will certainly stop using the internet and not waste money paying for something that is controlled like it would be depicted in this video.

On top of that, I would also boycott any corporation that`s involved with it just as I boycott TV for the same reasons.

Any corporation that values profits over the satisfaction of their customers, or popularity/ratings over truth is an establishment not worth the peoples time or money.

I`m keeping my fingers crossed on this one that this time the people will not allow themselves to get assfucked by the many billion dollar corporations again.

^ if you can not see this happening then you are either blind, in denial, or working for these big corporations. if ever these corporations push through, you can be sure that youtube will slowly vanish and facebook will turn into a government database. hell even comments that go on a slight tangent will be deleted. this is a violation of the freedom of speech. we are all entitled to a opinion. AT&T, comcast, warner have no right to deprive us of this.

@tokentiki...
you do know that in some way the internet is running out right?
the internet is running out of IP addresses

i just find this so unlikely ...

internet is all about having the ability to access anything you want, when you want it. if somebody would want to limit that ability - a LOT of companies would start losing money or go instant bankrupt.

there are more companies making bigger profit from the expansion of internet than telecommunications companies could ever make ...

it is more likely for people to want to pay for the particular services they use, than for them to want to pay for "all-in-one" internet access*

* - some limitations apply

i find it more likely that individual companies would grant you their own internet access FOR FREE as long as you use their products, services (like having a UMTS prepaid card added to your World of Warcraft, wikipedia, Youtube, news pack or whatever) than censored internet happening.

+ you know that if it ever came true - new internet providers would spawn joining big entertainment, news etc. companies for everybody`s profit. you`d buy net access in packs - though not the packs that somebody tells you you can buy, but the packs you decide to pay for.

sure it`s "internet redesigned" but think of it as not having to pay for all the stuff you don`t ever use on the internet - as in comparison to what we`re all doing now - which is kind of a good thing really.

i guess the one thing that would suck in that scenario would be the absolute loss of objectivity of news, information etc. with private-based mini-webs (like it is now with other media. you can never get an honest opinion or thought in the papers, tv, radio - people having money will always manipulate information to make more money, and thats the easiest when you control the medium - just like people wanting to discredit AT&T in the video above, etc. - and I`m not saying AT&T is all good - i think it`s only reasonable to assume that one sides opinion is not necessarily 100% true)

hope you understand. trying to hear both sides.

Well Paziu, not finding it likely doesn`t change the fact that this is what companies like AT&T is trying to do, right now.

I understand that you`re trying to see it from both sides, but internet is about freedom. You have the freedom to go to any site you want, any time you want.

"sure it`s "internet redesigned" but think of it as not having to pay for all the stuff you don`t ever use on the internet - as in comparison to what we`re all doing now - which is kind of a good thing really."

How is that a good thing? Internet is about sharing information about anything with anyone.
If I one day needed some information for something and then find out "DAMN, I didn`t pay for that service/site, I thought I`d never use it", should I have to pay for that extra service?

If they manage to make this happen, do you think they will stop at the regulations they mention in this video? Don`t you think they will make more?

Think of the internet as the Constitution, There`s not much left of the Constitution now is there? They`ve regulated the shit out of it. Not much freedom left there anymore. Now the one thing you have left, that you were probably busy using as the constitution was being raped by the Bush Administration, is also on the line. What will you do when they take that from you too? The only way for you then to share your opinion, videos, photos is paying for it.

If you have to pay for it, it`s not freedom.
