Anti Bailout Protest goes Unreported

Apparently there was a significant anti-bailout protest that hasn't been reported in the mass media. I don't know if this is true, this is what I know. I don't watch the major networks, and Yahoo news hasn't reported it on its front pages. If this is true, then it's a pretty interesting study in censorship in America.

It`s simply isn`t that much a newsworthy event to be honest. There are several protests going on in Washington any day of the week for various reasons and there are loads of them during these kinds of days, reporting them is basically like reporting that the sky is indeed...still blue.

There are protests running everyday and most go unreported. However, dont you think its strange that this protest goes unreported while the `bailout` is all over the news?

I might be pretty uninformed compared to some guys on here and others too. I actually got this from another site, and he was the one suggesting the censorship element of the story. I got the same sort of response like Tada`s on another website, so I guess this sort of thing happens a lot.

Still, you`d think the media that`s been all over this financial crisis would be pretty quick to jump on both supporters and dissenters of the bailout bill. I find that interesting *shrug*.

Crompee: Like I said, protests are not that newsworthy. No one really cares about protesting unless it becomes violent.

OP said that is was strange that Yahoo hadn`t reported it on it`s front page. WHY? What the story going to be; "People angry. Gathers at street!"

These things basically gets a small notice in next days paper if it turned ugly or epicly huge. Protests simply aren`t that big of a deal.

even though i know this fact, the question sprung up: why isnt starlight blue then?

On topic: news being censored?? woopie doo you people only figure this out now? The mainstream news is just thoughts being put into your mind instead of people actual thinking for themselves.

For example in the recent georgian situation, apparently all the mainstream media thought John Edwards ex-marital affairs was more important then major military operations being conducted... just when Georgia was attacking its own and russian citizens.... which lead to a major asskicking which was reported solely as russias fault lol post getting to long...
