Under Martial Law?

Is the US indeed under martial law as Rep. Burgess has stated today. Or was it just a piss/poor attempt at a euphemism?

They know you guys are going to react, they`re not stupid. The question was never what if, but when. Now the next move will be up to you, and if your brothers in arms can and would execute blindly every orders.

There`s 2 possibles outcomes.
1- Revolution: everyone will unite against a obvious controlled government starting by manifestations and escalating. Now up to this point between revolution and civil war the line is not big.

2- Or Nothing: which means they successfully made you believe that you are a powerless being, not in control of your destiny.

Full contact sport? Maybe in Taiwan! They literally do pre-battle stretches in the legislature in Taiwan.

Yes, as of tomorrow the United States is under Martial Law.

http://www.armytimes.com/news/2008/09/army_homeland_090708w/

"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. ...
And what country can preserve its liberties, if it`s rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure."

-Thomas Jefferson

Vive la Revolucion.

I think he is refering to the suspension of habeas corpus. Some people would argue that since the government basically has the right to arrest anyone and put them in a prison in a foreign base for a few years on extremely lose grounds, you`d be under martial law. Still I`m only guessing here, could be refering to something else or just making confusing statement which would make sense if you had heard more of him.

Look, I don`t disagree with him exactly but it`d have been nice if he`d have voiced those concerns over some of the shit the republicans rammed through when they were in power. Medicare part D, anyone?

Martial Law doesn`t mean what you would expect it to mean in this context. As someone on Digg kindly pointed out:

"The Leadership apparently intends to use a process known as “martial law” to allow these bills to be brought to the floor very shortly after negotiations are completed, with the result that Members of the House are likely to have virtually no time to examine and consider the details of the legislation before they will be required to vote on it."

Still it`s not good, just not quite as bad.

A revolution? Give me a fucking break you dreamer. People got their Humvee`s, their Escalades, the Starbucks Latte`s. No one will cast the first stone and risk it all. I for one am doing very well, I could care less about my fellow American because they could care less about me. I am hear to see what America can do for me because I DAMN well know America is done for.

Its you fools that think someone is going to stand up with some magic People`s Army, storm the white house and put Ron Paul in charge. Good fucking luck. While you`re at it, take the Medical Marijuana joint out of your mouth, sober up, get a job and come back down to earth.

Revolution.... fucking PLEASE!

The French did it.

The early American Colonialism did it.

Nelson Mandela did it in a prison cell for 27 years.

Ho Chi Minh did it in Vietnam after over a thousand year rule by China, and then some decades more by France leeching the country dry of its natural resources.

Martin Luther King did it for the black cause.

Mao Zedong did it and formed what is now the People`s Republic of China (PRC). Probably becoming the world`s most powerful and richest nation in the world.

Adolf Hitler almost succeeded.

Mohandas Gandi did it peacefully without violence.

So tell me again, what makes you think revolutions can`t happen under any circumstances? What makes you think that people won`t stand up for themselves when the time is right.

If there is a time in American history for people to stand up and do something, then it is now. We are living in the most turbulent times in all of American history. This won`t only affect us, but the whole world even.

I`m standing up for a revolution. You can count me in. If you aren`t a part of it, then you are against it. I don`t believe people who just sit and do nothing and complain all day deserve a say in any of this. So do yourself and your fellow man kind a favor and shut the fuck up.

"We are living in the most turbulent times in all of American history."

The Great Depression made this current situation look like Disneyland son. You know nothing about the psychology of people, you know NOTHING about war and violence.

Take 10,000 protestors and 500 police. Give the police tear gas, rubber bullets, tanks with fire hoses, and watch just how easily that Revolution crowd disperses. Send a couple to jail with heavy fines and watch those "Modern Revolutionaries" come and bail them out.

You, my friend know nothing about people. Revolutions happen at the end of a knife or gun, where you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Are you willing to risk your cherry little fucking ass with your iPod, Wii, Starbucks Latte, a roof over your head for a revolution?

Fuck no.

Now let me rape your sister, kill your brother, burn your house down, starve you and throw you out on the street. Then, son, and only then, will you be willing to call for a revolution.

Fucking dimwits like you use the word Revolution without even thinking about what you are saying or what`s involved in performing such an action. Typical idiotic kid that has watched way too many hollywood movies.

Oh and silverest, most of your past "Revolutions" were just that, in the past. Also, many of your Revolutions weren`t even in this country.

Times have changed, the game, the playing field has changed. We may be repeating ourselves but the method to get people motivated has changed. You cannot apply past efforts towards the current situation because they are not one and the same, nor interchangeable.

This isn`t a holy war, a segregation of church and state, a separation from the Mother Land. This is to continue our way of living beyond our means. Hardly something to die for or over.

God damn you are a fucking ignorant son of a bitch.
