"Sudan 1880s, this is the fifth film to be adapted from the A.E.W. Mason novel about a British officer who resigns his post right before his regiment ships out to battle the rebels. Perceiving his resignation as cowardice, his friends and fiancée give him four white feathers, the symbol of cowardice, but there's more to him than that ..." Brilliant film from 2002 about friendship, loyalty and courage. It starred the late Heath Ledger, who gave an outstanding performance and you can also see a stunt he did in this clip. This scene depicts the Battle of El Gubat Abu Kru, Sudan January 19th 1885 and shows the nature of battle. I don't like to give things away, but there is one tiny miniscule flaw in this clip ... the British WON this battle. They didn't lose it. Not sure why Hollywood had to change it...
