Loved the original, never got into this one...Burton`s a genious, but I just couldn`t get into Depp`s version of Willy when I so adored Wilder`s

Read the book, Depps portrayal is closer to the books character.
I too loved wilders version, but it was very "kiddy" i have read the book, and many other Rahl Dahl books and enjoyed both versions for theyre interpretations.
