The biggest reason why people were offended by the cartoon was because they hadn`t even seen it. Most Muslims in the more civilized parts of Europe did not go ape shit over it, most of my Muslim friends didn`t even care but said that perhaps the guys that did the cartoon probably should have seen it coming.

In other parts of the world people don`t have the luxury of the good telecom, so they don`t hear the whole story nor do they actually see the pictures.

Yeah, it was a minority, but still a significant number of people. They have every right to be offended, but to threaten and enact violence is completely out of order. I agree that the cartoonists should have expected a backlash from radical idiots, but none of us should have expected censorship to follow. Freedom of speech only works if people can be offended, the radical muslims(and some moderates) want freedom of their own beliefs but not of others.
