And Fallout 3 has only a month or so to go. Just think, if the nuke shit had hit the proverbial nuke fan back in the Cold War, we`d all be living in Shady Sands or New Reno, fighting of Radscorpions, and looking desperately for some easy way of dealing with Deathclaws.

On second thoughts, we`d probably all be dead. But I for one am proud that it was my species (albeit a particularly suicidal breed thereof) that "harnessed" the atom (that is, "unleashed" the atom).

I believe this is in 1957, not 1952. Britain first detonated a nuclear (fission) device in 1952.

The American H-bomb test is a little better, because it gives you a good frame of reference for the power of the blast. The island in the pacific where they tested the bomb... no longer exists.
