That is because the fortune cookie was made in USA. Should be called the American fortune cookie.

Edit: They would be called freedom cookies if Americans were truly free and without a corrupt government system. But hey, whose government is perfect?

the sad thing is that the fortunes are statements of the present instead of predictions of the future, and are almost always full of grammatical errors.
