^yea for real man. when scientists were talking about how the lhc could possibly create tiny black holes for a few moments, people just heard !!!BLACK HOLES!!! Suddenly they`re experts on the subject and know whats best for mankind.

Stop worrying if we die it will be in a millisecond. What a way to go. No cancer no auto collision no painful heart attack and smelling like pee in an old folks home. Besides it`s not like you were gonna do anything anyways except smoke weed. ^^

I know it`s cute to express "panic" about the implications of these tests, but seriously, it`s an exciting time to be alive and witness their findings.

For anyone taking the "Chicken Little" approach, just know that for a proper black hole to form, you need the mass equivalent of a star, and preferably a large one. Our own sun might or might not eventually become one, as far as I understand it. These tiny "black holes" that form under CERN`s conditions take place around us all the time. Again, this is as far as I understand the science.

But if you persist in paranoia, you can monitor CERN`s webcams here, in real time. It should make you feel better:

I know they say they will find out more about how our universe was created but this was saying moments after the big bang..

Does this mean they are going to work backwards from the moments after and does it mean our universe is actually a huge test being conducted by massive aliens and we are all stuck in a giant LHC??

but Drogue is right its an exciting time to be alive, the 60`s and 70`s had Hippies, the moon landing and cultural movements,
We get things like Steven Hawkings and the LHC which potentially provide the answer to how we all began. I however am skeptical on that point i dont think we will find out how i think that is a job for our children or their children but the foundation created in our time will go towards that...

Exciting times...
