Climb Dance

This award winning short film documents Ari Vatanen's record-breaking run at the 1988 annual Pike's Peak Hill Climb Event in Colorado. The film was created by Jean Louis Mourey and captures Vatanen climbing Pike's Peak in a four wheel drive, four wheel steer Peugeot 405 T16.

I think they`ve paved most, if not all, of Pike`s Peak recently due to the fact that the whole mountain is eroding. I`m not sure how I feel about that. No more dirt flying, but I`m sure it`s good racing nonetheless.

I`ve seen this film a million times and it scares the shit out of me each time. It hasn`t even started but it`s an instant 5/5 especially when the sun gets in his eyes so he shields it with his hand, while driviing on a knife edge. Some kind of crazy he is!

Now if you excuse me, I must play some colin mcrae dirt now ;)

5/5 Video right here. Rally racing is awesome. 3:27 That would freak me out so much, drivin at the tip top of pikes peak with the sun glaring in your eyes with a straight down drop on the side. And this guy is haulin ass through it too.

Pikes Peak is awesome, there are no guardrails around any of the switchbacks some with over a 1000 foot drop.
