^a chainsaw? noob, you will be hungering for brains within a week. Splatter from the chainsaw will basically bathe you in zombie blood, so even the smallest scratch will get you infected.

Best weapons for a civilian against zombies:
1. Sharp crowbar- easy, solid weapon with many alternate uses
2. .22 rifle- lightweight gun and ammo, bullet only pierces one layer of skull, ricocheting around the brain and guaranteeing a kill

Get hold of the book Zombie Surival Guide, by Max Brooks (Mel Brooks` son). Fantastic read, and very educational. There`s also an audio book called "Z War", which is a series of interviews with people who survived the zombie apocalypse. Fantastic!

Uzo stole it from me - the Zombie Survival Guide treats an outbreak of undead as a true situation, with a really good strategy for keeping alive in such an event (if it was to happen, of course).
