dude doesn`t realize that if you actually haggled the price with them for 5-10 mins you would be down to 20 dollars. People in this part of the world think every average American has millions of dollars. Go to any African country and you`ll see for yourself.

in many places haggling with a merchant is part of the culture. so they automatically high ball everyone. if you don`t know enough to haggle then you deserve to pay more

in the US you usually bargain for houses, cars, and contracts. but many people don`t realize that it`s not only for the big stuff, you can haggle for furniture and glasses, etc. it`s the small stuff, common goods, things sold in places like chain stores and supermarkets that prices can`t be brought down.

and that guy isn`t totally right, weapons don`t make instability. i`m not expert but my impression is that lack of community, social identity, law, effective government, and problems with resources are the big causes. availability of weapons only make it easier to kill people. if there weren`t guns, people would be using blades. if there were no blades, they would use sticks and stones. if there were none of those they would use their fists

This is an interesting piece. I was particularly interested to see an AK ($400) with a higher asking price than an M16A1 ($200). It has to be easier to get the 7.62x39 than the 5.56, not to mention the M16 is seriously more accurate. That said though, the AK had that oh so cool hood look with the folding stock... He was definitely being highballed though, I wouldn`t pay $400 here stateside for an AK. Oh, and by the way, while standing in the middle of all those guns I didn`t see one jump off the wall and kill anyone, maybe it does take someone to actually squeeze the trigger to kill someone.
