Atheists Are Immoral -- Debunked

A common criticism of atheists is that they have no values, no moral compass, and a philosophy of "if it feels good, do it." But is that really borne out by the evidence? And, if not, where does their moral compass come from?

Oh my God (sic).

A 6:44 video to make the point that asserting that god doesn`t exist is as foolish as asserting that he does? Seriously? The vast majority of believers will tell you god exists (a 7 on the scale) and back it up with anything from uncorroborated personal experience, dubious evidence or straight up pure faith; on the other hand the vast majority of non-believers will be closer to laplace and simply say of god (in one form or another) that they have no need of that hypothesis (a 6 on the scale).

The video accepts that the burden of proof lies with the person claiming god`s existence but somehow goes on to say that burden disappears when an imaginary, undereducated atheist makes some contrary claim. Why would it? The rest of us are still waiting for your proof.

The 7 is used by Dawkins to signify the:

`I know god doesn`t exist` category

and the 1 is used to signify the:

`I know god exist` category

fdrazmataz, I`m not entirely sure what you were trying to prove. If there`s anything I boggle over when debating hardcore Christians it`s that you guys can never argue the points being made.

Either you go off on some stupid tangent or you fall back to some dogmatic, stale, already debunked, arguments. It`s like some "First Faith Kit" you whip out whenever your religious sensibilities get hurt.

The fact of the matter is I don`t need your god to be a good human being. If anything, it`s created and bred fear, self-loathing, obsessiveness, immaturity, idleness, and hate.

You get moral people from all walks of life no matter what they beleive in. Morals and values are all "in the eye of the beholder" what may be immoral to me may be ok for someone else. No one should point fingers and beleive that you are higher than anyone else because you have better "morals" or "views" People on both sides of the argument do it, Atheists and Christians.

I`m an atheists, but not cause I disagree with all religions, I believe religion provides society with structure and an ultimate consequence for all of their actions. However, I do not believe that I have the evidence to say which entity should be accepted as god or even decide if god exist or doesn`t exist.

As a Christian i want Atheists and "Hardcore" Christians to read carefully to what i`m going to say.

Atheists - As far as Atheists goes, i totally respect their views and beliefs. As a christian let me tell you straight. GOOD FOR YOU! AND BE PROUD TO BE AN ATHEIST! MysticMan`s comments restores my faith, not in Christianity but humanity. But you got to understand how i feel when people on this site all of a sudden disrespect in what i believe in when there is a video about religion in general.

Christians "hardcore" - It`s people like you who gives every other decent person who believes Christianity a bed reputation. Part of me wants to kick you in the head for being so ignorant to everyone else and not respecting people beliefs, which in-turn you want from everyone else. but i shouldn`t be thinking like that because its immoral.

Conclusion - Personally i don`t believe in jesus christ but more in Christianity`s philosophies. By reading this i hope people have more patience with other people`s views about spirituality. Sorry if its a bit long, just giving my two cents... or four.

I am glad that spikedhumor ppl are questioning the existence of god our savior. Cos it is inevitable that they will, at the end, all come to the same answer. Yes he exists. Some ppl take 20 years, some only 1 min in a christian church. But dont worry you will grow up, and get smart. For now your just a little too young to understand. Proofs are evrywhere, lets say the cataclysms that are moar and more present in our days. But yet more of em are to come, cos as it is written in golden letter in the bible. Ecclesiastes 12:13 "As he walked in the desert of Sinai, jesus stopped and faced the sun. And said : its hot here." As we can see Jesus in his awesomeness already knew about global warming.
Ow and those who dont believe in jesus christ don`t know about facts. Heard about The Shroud of Turin? Well even atheists begin to admit it belonged to Jesus. What made em change their mind? They found some virgin DNA on it.

@ Gusthebus - lol i know i sound like a hypocrite but i guess didnt explain myself properly. I do believe in a higher power and there was a man named Jesus who to me was a holy man but it ends there. what people perceived back then and what they wrote down was probably exaggerated. i dont really consider myself a "proper" christian though what was i trying to get at before was people here on the spiked insulting something that people hold in high regard.
Rhaaaaa is the perfect example of my argument, an over zealous twat or being a straight-out dickhead for trying to impersonate a christian.
