fuck the pope. a crucifiction is a method of execution. just because their religion chose it as their emblem doesn`t mean anyone else can`t use an image of it in any other purposes. his outcry is an expression of his arrogance and an attack on freedom of speech. how does one even take a sculpture like that as offensive? if for some reason christianity chose christ sitting in the electric chair as their new symbol, who would care if some person made a sculpture of an animal in an electric chair? his whinning is even subpar to the muslims` outrage on an image of muhammed, where at least a cartoon was of a person of scripture, but the pope is against something that his religion doesn`t "own."

you know what this reminds me of? that retarded black guy who was angry that someone used the term "black hole" to describe beauracracy. just b ecause the word "black" was in the phrase, and "black" is also the name given to his demographic group, and even though the word "black" has other uses, he chose to take offense. the pope is no different from the retard in this respect.

if the artist himself said that his work was a denouncement of christianity, that would be a little different. the pope would have some sort of reason to take offence, but so far i see no evidence of that.
