Dick has problems having a dialog with creationists. Having 2 strong minded people having apposing beleifs will not bring a civalised discussion. He blames creationists for not having a good dialog, and creationists i reacon would blame him. They are both at fault because they both are strong minded and have uni-directional though.

I think alot of the problem with his "dialog" with creationists was dicks interpretation of the word faith, and it is good he notices that.

What proper way should evidence be used?

It is good to see that dick says he is not 100% certain about evolution. You will still get people who say they are 100% certain about god or evolution.

^Sure "two strong minded individuals with opposing beliefs" can have a civilized discussion. This was one of them. And what does "uni-directional thought" mean? Neither tried to change the beliefs of the other. Rather they tried to illuminate the differences and see if there were contradictions or fallacies. And Dawkins has always said he is not 100% sure of evolution- just that it is a theory with overwhelming factual support. No reasonable person is 100% sure of a scientific theory or fact.

edit- If uni-directional thought means arguing with one idea, then Dawkins nor Mcgarth did that. They went through many different arguments and ideas centering around their respective theses. That`s what a proper discussion is. Oh, and thanks MysticMan for the personal attack. Nothing like childish banter to belittle a conversation.

Then it would not be theory then it would be fact. Why would he push evolution as fact if he is not 100% sure?

Uni- means having or consisting of one, so one directional though. If you dont know what one directional thought is, you should not be on here, you should be at school.

Seems like McGrath wants to argue that religion is USEFUL and HELPFUL. he never wants to address whether or not it`s true or not....

but if more christians were like this it wouldn`t be so bad...
