^ No they werent, at that time the romans still had a decent level of technology, they just didnt have an empire.
Check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Kingdom, they had a senate and decent buildings at around 753BC when the city was founded.
Just because you have an idea or opinion, don`t try to say it as a fact when you clearly do not know.

LOl ^ dude so true, the legioners kick ass. Screw you Ramsen we westerners kick ass, our culture is matched by no other why do think everyone else copies it; the asians try to look white, they drink wine. It`s only because of WW2 that we`re exploited, if we don`t become tolerant and kiss ass then we`re nazis. It`s human nature to dislike other groups, it`s nature. Competition is embedded into our DNA we are animals after all. What do you think will happen when u.s competitiveness comes to a screeching halt? China will take lands that have what they. Now we don`t see competition because there are established boundaries, when one no longer sustains them the other will come to take.

Honestly, get educated before you make a comment. Why do you have to fight over who was better or worse? Different circumstances gave rise to different civilizations, just because one came before another doesn`t make it better or worse. By the way Chrisalexan, human nature does not tell us to fear what`s different, we are taught that ever since we were babies. If you threw a white baby into a group of black babies, do you really think segregation and fear would be present? Comparing us to other animals is not a valid argument either, human beings entered into a social contract to rise above and beyond the basic instincts of competition and need. do some logical reasoning before you make such a bold statement about human nature.
