The robot hand and muscle sensors was designed to be able to control from wrist, forearm and shoulder. so, using other muscle, don`t need to move the hand.

Shortly after this filming, the hand up linked with skynet and became self-aware, willingly and knowingly flipping the bird to everyone.

Doesn`t Aiko mean "child of love" or something to that degree?

There still seem to be some kinks that need to be worked out of course, such as delay, which could likely be a number of things, but is probably the speed at which the data coming from the sensors is processed, and converted into mechanical instructions. It seems to fairly accurately recreate the movement however.

Applications to prosthetics are likely limited if it were to rely on muscle movement in the arm. I`m not sure that wrist muscles would operate properly even if just the hand was missing. Of course this is all conjecture. You should really conduct some tests on an amputee missing their hand.

yes, Aiko is a japanese name meaning love child. For handicap person they would use the upper arm and below the shoulder muscle to control the hand. They would not use their wrist muscle. Yes, I am trying to find a volunteer.

The hand was originally designed for Aiko the android.
