Two points here.

1. America has been trying to dig up shit on China ever since the Olympics. Why? I do not know, but if you hear about anything bad about China, its a claim made by America.

2. Even if they are a couple years under-aged, I don`t believe they should be punished for that. I heard one of the announcers say that there is a certain pressure when you`re 16 that you don`t have when you`re 13. That is a pretty bullshit claim and if that is one of the reasons why China should be punished they should think of better bullshit.

^ It`s not a bullshit claim. If they really are underage than they have broken the rule that requires gymnasts to be at least 16 years of age or over. You either play by the rules, or don`t play at all.

@importrx7, The claim wasn`t made by the US alone. It`s appeared on some Chinese sites also, but quickly removed by state run media.

Even without these girls, their other Chinese athletes in gymnastics, diving, and weightlifting just skyrocketed their gold count. Not surprising, home court advantage plays a huge part, just don`t tell that to Micheal Phelps.

And why are people bitching? I mean if you can`t beat some 13 year old little girl you probably shouldn`t have wasted your time coming at all. I mean if something like this happened in the US there might be some huge deal made about how this little kid deserves to compete because of all the "adversities" he/she has surpassed. Just forget about their age and kick their ass. If you loose stfu and quit.

Most Chinese people around 18 tend to look a lot younger. My cousin who is pure chinese looks 13 even though he is 19. Chinese girls look even younger, and basing an accusation over appearances is not a strong approach.

Guess this is why its such a controversy...
