I love a good documentary, and maybe this is a great one, but I am SO turned off by the unnecessary WHOOOSHING sound effects and the horror-movie announcer.

Personal opinions matter so much in the evolution world. That is all it is, where is the proof?

"The spark of evolution are tiny Random genetic changes"

If they are random how come so many creatures are so similar? 2 eyes, 2 legs, 2 arms, 2 ears, 2 lungs, a heart, intestines.

"Evolution thats boosts survival and reproduction are favored by natural selection" but evolution is random, so somewhere along the line the eye cells jumped to another creature and told the cells in that creature to make eyes?

"Animal eyes are an excellent example of convirsioned evolution" so evolution is not random???

People here and else where have said evolution is lead by Natural Selection, so who is wrong? ahh maybe evolutionists are not sure so both answers are given.

If all of the same creatures evolved at the same time and some times there were mistakes wouldn`t the mistakes stay (as said "from generation to generation")? if they die out how come the animal is still here now?

I notice they never talk about that time of the creatures growth.

Dont go into attack mode and think i am another religious freak, i just cant see how evolution can work, there are so many holes in the evolution idea.

To mysticman

"The spark of evolution are tiny Random genetic changes"

that might be a misstatement. it`s an environmental response adaptation is based on environment.

"If they are random how come so many creatures are so similar? 2 eyes, 2 legs, 2 arms, 2 ears, 2 lungs, a heart, intestines."

becuase they work. they ensure mating action.

but the eye cell doesn`t jump from one to another. It is favored by nateral selection which inturn makes it so that the gene is passed on. If it was not useful then it would be filtered out by nateral selection.

"If all of the same creatures evolved at the same time and some times there were mistakes wouldn`t the mistakes stay (as said "from generation to generation")? if they die out how come the animal is still here now?"

I agree it is misleading.
1 we are still evolving to this day, it just takes freaking forever to observe evolution in us. Look at it this way humans have been around 30,000 years look at all the diversity in all that time. Look at those Kenyen runner`s legs. :D
2 yes these mistakes stay. if they are detrimental your genes are wiped out. kinda like if you were born with no legs and didn`t adapt and find a mate. But overall mutations are generally a BAD thing not a good one. VERY VERY rarely is a mutation a good thing.

Try to look at nateral selection as adaptation to mate.
A lot of people twist this very simple meaning. When in reality rapters turned into birds. You would think that would be a downgrade, but they adapted and are still here to this day.

Also a little known scientific fact. Raptors in Jurassic park should be fully plumed.

If you want to know more there are plenty of fruit fly experiments and E. coli experiments that prove evolutions existence.

@ MysticMan.

I think you are mistaken on how evolution works, It doesn`t work by "Random genetic changes" as you say.

I`ll quote Wikipedia: "evolution is the process of change in the inherited traits of a population of organisms from one generation to the next. The genes that are passed on to an organism`s offspring produce the inherited traits that are the basis of evolution."

Here`s a good read, if you are interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution

MysticMan, your opinions are based off statements out of context. You clearly haven`t ever taken a bio course in your life. I`d suggest you do that before you start trying to throw out opinions like that. People might think you`re really foolish.

I agree with thinkbolt - the presentation style of these documentaries is really condescending. Maybe they want to make them accesible to kids but I used to love nature shows when I was a kid, and they weren`t all hyped up like this.

Again @ Mystic Man

"If they are random how come so many creatures are so similar? 2 eyes, 2 legs, 2 arms, 2 ears, 2 lungs, a heart, intestines."
-Many species you are thinking about evolve from common ancestors. Amphibians from fish, reptiles from amphibians, mammals from reptiles. The amphibians happened to have those charateristics, they worked and they stayed, so now we have them too. Look at insects, they didnt evolve along the same line as us and most do not have 2 legs they have 6.

"Evolution thats boosts survival and reproduction are favored by natural selection" but evolution is random, so somewhere along the line the eye cells jumped to another creature and told the cells in that creature to make eyes?
-Your comment doesnt really make sense. Cells did not jump from creature to creature they evolved seperatly, probably based from a basic ancestor which had photosensitive cells, the eyes evolved later.

"Animal eyes are an excellent example of convirsioned evolution" so evolution is not random???
-Its convergent, just checking you know the word. Genetic mutations are random but natural selection is the same so something as incredibly useful as eyes would always tend to develop.

People here and else where have said evolution is lead by Natural Selection, so who is wrong? ahh maybe evolutionists are not sure so both answers are given.
-Genetic mutation + Natural selection = Adaptive evolution. Two different forces causes a result. The genetic mutations are random some good, most are bad. Natural selection means that the bad, random mutations will cause the animal to die, while the occasional good mutation will lead the animal to breed and spread its genes, so most of the species ends up with that good gene.

If all of the same creatures evolved at the same time and some times there were mistakes wouldn`t the mistakes stay (as said "from generation to generation")? if they die out how come the animal is still here now?
- The bad random mistakes would die out, but mutations happen on an individual level. A mistake would cause one to die, not the entire species.

I notice they never talk about that time of the creatures growth.
-Not talked about here but you can easily research this. Alot of evolution based on sex ratios of a species and how parents care for young are based on this very thing.

LONG ass comment i know but i studied evolution as an outside option at university and some of the previous posts didnt cut the mustard.
Try to remember evolution happens over 1000s of generations, a small mutation only has to be a little bit benefitial ON AVERAGE for a change to happen over such a massive timescale.

I was quoting the documentary

@skibxskatic

again they are quotes taken from the documentary, and how can i take the quotes out of context.? either it is random or not.

MysticMan your statements in your first comment reveal that you know NOTHING about biology. Quit wasting your time here with questions about the basics and look up some basic literature.

here is where you can download "The Origin Of Species"

@ Mystic man, +1

Bravo I caught that too. Sparks of Evolution = "Tiny Random genetic changes" "little mistake made when the dna.."

Surely this must mean there is no God, hahaha NO. Try again evolutionists. Until you base it on PROOF of what causes these "mistakes" you sound just as foolish as us. And show me a bibliography, I will not accept your opinion as a reliable source.

Creationists do not disagree with evolution, maybe some do. But maybe some of us attribute these "sparks of changes" and the Big Bang to a Greator One.

Greater than any human whom all carry a sack of shit and sit on a toilet just like me and any other man.
