This is just retarded. A country which was the second(only to India) poorest nation on earth 60 years ago has achieved so much. The whole of western Europe is about 300 million and US is about 300 million. But the population of China is about atleast 4 times more than that.

Why is it so difficult for you western morons to appreciate something that is different from yours ?

Show me a region (not a country) on earth which houses more than 1/5th of the world and is
a. powerful (military and economics)
b. contributing to humanity through science
c. contributing to humanity through art
d. competes with rest of the world in every possible arena (e.g. sports)

You cannot compare Germany to China because Germany is way less populated than China. For the same reason you cant compare France or Japan to China.

This leaves us with America. It is true that America satisfies all the four criterion but it doesn`t have any better human rights record that China. America imprisons more people than any country on Earth. It executes more people on Earth than Europe (0) and India (1 per year) combined, which is about half of the world. Gitmo is in no way better than any prison in China.

FYI. I am not Chinese. I am from India, a country where China is perceived a threat.

So stop being a sore loser and accept that it is going to be an era of Chinese influence. It is going to be no better than the era of American influence. And it going to be no worse either.

Canadian music is the epitome of high culture. Canadian martial arts is revered by billions of people. Some of worlds greatest philosophers were Canadians. And Canadians lead the Olympic medal tally.

You are a nobody. And your past is nothing. There will never be a "Canadian" restaurant or "Canadian" music or "Canadian" philosophy.

I would rather give up all my rights for social justice and marxism than be a "NOBODY" from "NOWHERE".

I am not claiming that the Chinese government is noble (or even right) in anyway. But at least the Chinese don`t pretend that they have the best and "free" society. They don`t look down upon the African nations. They don`t send some measly aid to Africa and refuse to trade with them. They don`t sit in their high Altair and complain about how uncivilized other human races are ? They don`t complain about the racism in Canada or the plight of aboriginals in Australia or the sufferings the South Africans had to go through to eliminate apartheid. They were polite during the Sydney Olympics and they will be polite when there is an Olympics in Johannesburg.

Chinese regime is ruthless. But that doesn`t give us the right to mock the people of China. Olympics is about international tolerance and friendship. But then as I claimed earlier what can you expect from Canada.

May be thats why Martin Luther King called Canada the temple of humanity. And Nelson Mandela called Canada the abode of peace. And Aung Saan Suki called Canada the beacon in the struggle against tyranny.

OK please read this part very carefully so you can stop repeating your self. Never at any point have I compared China to another nation. Not Canada, not the US. All your points about Canada or what you refer to as the "West" are moot. They mean nothing. I am not saying that any other countries are better then China. I make NO comparison. I am simply stating that China does very bad things and that they are not a country that should be looked up to. I make no claim to be speaking on behalf of anyone or anything.
