War in South Ossetia

Background info for you: Once an autonomous part of Georgia, South Ossetia passed a referendum in 1992 to break away from Georgia and merge with the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. Conflicts were ended when Georgia, Russia, North Ossetia and South Ossetia agreed on a ceasefire on June 24, 1992. Georgia has since had only partial control over South Ossetia. Yesterday, the ceasefire broke down.

I love how hugely different watching Russian news is from US news. There was no personality giving us his opinion. There was very little talking at all. It was just footage of what is really going on.

Georgian Pres. acts like he has done NOTHING wrong but I think that he started this war and now that hes gotten fucked up he is kissing americas ass for help...I mean if anyone has seen him on CNN or any news channel, hes always kissing americas ass about being a country of freedom and help would be great and russians started this...

Where does Russia get the right to prevent Georgia from taking back its own territory from separatists?

Russia has backed the separatists in the region by providing them with superior arms for the past decade. This group of separatists - with the support of Russia - has for years been ethnically cleansing Georgians living S. Ossetia. What provoked the Georgians was recent shelling of Georgian villages in S.Ossetia. Russian citizens? Russia issued these same separatists with Russian passports – and voila: "instant" Russian citizens and now an excuse to invade to "protect" its citizens. Thus you have an invasion by Russia that will result in the annexation of a section of one of its neighbors back into Russia - this was always the plan of Russia. The Russians have learned the art of propaganda - it’s interesting how gullible the world is, to accept it so readily, no matter who pumps it out.

I don`t believe you people, you must be pretty fucked up to be spewing out all this pro-russian shit, maybe you`d like the people of cnn to be murdered because that`s the way your russian friends treat journalists that don`t agree with them.
South Ossetians weren`t born russian citizens, russia started handing them out russian passports three years ago to piss the georgians off.
There is no independant evidence of a georgian massacre of ossetian citizens only the government controlled (and don`t insult our intelligence by saying it isn`t) russian media which spews out figures of thousands of dead but fails to show the corpses.
Your good friend putin had his political opponents either arrested or denied them any airtime on his tv stations in the recent elections so wow what a good fair and balanced man.
You might think that you`re so cool listening to russian media and than running to tyhis site to shrill to your cronies that you have the truth, but in actual fact you`ve been fed some propaganda crap by the russian equivalent of cnn which is just as bad if not worse than our media.
