In Toronto where I live, the weather isn`t so different from many northern US cities, Buffalo, Detroit ect... In the summer it gets hot, it was like 35 degrees the other day.

Ah, the Ice Storm of `97-98, I believe. Those were some good and bad times! No electricity for a few weeks. I could play hockey anywhere in my back yard!

Gets a bit nippy when it`s lower than -30.

Well considering you can drive on roads made of ice in parts of Canada, ide have to say yes to Canada being cold. In Missouri It barely gets cold enough for you to be able to walk on ice over a creek. I would never try it on a river or lake. I think St. Louis made a big deal with the Mississippi river froze many years ago thick enough for a group of people to walk across.

Toronto isn`t really a good representative for the weather in Canada. You guys are further south and close the the great lakes. You don`t have real winters.

Heck, last time Toronto had 10 centimeters of snow the Torontonians panicked as if it was the end of the world. In Quebec, you need at least 40 centimeters to fall in half a day to even consider the idea of maybe closing the schools.
