that was awesome..looked like the lightning was branching out at first trying to find the closest grounded point and than as soon as it found it..BOOM

^ Yeah. Seems like this particular lightning does just that. If you look really closely to that main shock.

There is a lot of different types of lightning, we know supposedly very little about them. Did you know there are geyser shower like lightning with red/orage/blue colors called "sprites" and "blue jets"?

The amazing part is this is the first time I`ve ever seen the ionization of the air.

This causes the pathway for lightning to return. I was always a little confused how it worked but watching this explained a lot... Also, you can see the lightning actually pulsating a bit which blew my mind.
