Jones died as a result of head injuries sustained in a fall and subsequent collision during the Supersport Race at the Brands Hatch round of the 2008 World Supersport Championship.

The fall occurred at Clark Curve, a fast right-hand turn that leads into the home straight of the Brands Hatch circuit. At the time of the fall, Jones was in second position and challenging Jonathan Rea for the lead. As Jones accelerated out of the curve the rear wheel of his Honda CBR-600RR machine lost traction and he was thrown across the track into the path of oncoming riders. The Australian rider Andrew Pitt attempted to take evasive action, but the front wheel of his machine collided with Jones` head.

The race was immediately stopped by officials so that medical personnel could attend to Jones, and he was taken to the Brands Hatch medical centre where Clinica Mobile doctors resuscitated him on four occasions. He was subsequently air-lifted by the Kent Air Ambulance to the Royal London Hospital. Jones` condition was assessed as `extremely critical` upon his arrival and he was induced into a pharmacological coma by doctors in an attempt to stabilise his condition. This intervention was unsuccessful and Jones was pronounced dead by doctors on August 4, 2008.

so wierd how he died with that fall I thought he fell fairly soft not enough to be fatal. It didnt think you could die so easy. did i miss something?

No, its not a shitty way to go out.

The guy died living on the edge, doing what he loved. His death was just an unfortunate event.

A shitty way to go is sitting on the couch of your mothers basement were you`ve lived your whole life, and dying of a heart attack brought on by cheetos and southpart re-reuns.

RIP, but good on ya for giv`in hell.

^^^ Is that derrogatory statement directed at me? I think getting your skull crushed right after falling off your bike when in second place IS a shitty way to go out.

And there are plenty of motorcyclists just because they "live on the edge" doesn`t make their death(s) any less of a tragedy and shock.

unfortunate = shitty

event = death...

...= a shitty way to go out, just like i said? And i find it disrespectful you downplaying it saying it`s "JUST" an unfortunate event. To each his own though.
