I`m 18 years old, and i remember when that bridge opened ( its called Nanpu bridge), my mom took me ( i was around 4 at the time) to be part of the first group that crossed it. She was part of the group of about 10 engineers that designed that bridge. Theres the Yangpu bridge on the other side of the city that crosses the same river and i was on that bridge`s openning day too.

Its twisted because there is only so much space given for the on-ramp.

if they had made a straight shot right up to the bridge, it would be way too steep for any car to climb. by twisting it, it gives u alot more length to climb that height, so its not as steep.
