I`m not going to say that i`d speak up, because at the end of the day, it`s a fucken bike. It`s a risk in a big city, so buy yours from pawn shops.

Plus, i PROBABLY wouldn`t confront a guy with an angle grinder...

err if you buy from a pawn shop then your probably buying a stolen bike which doesn`t help the whole process...

I can only suggest not to buy such a pretty bike, rust helps keep the thieves away.

2)a hacksaw
3)hammer and spike

i dont think id risk myself for someones bike that i dont even know.

and i ride around downtown with my bike alot just lock it up right, take off the seat that helps a little to.

To be honest, the fact that he`s holding potential weapons is one thing you`d be concerned about for not confronting him.

But the other thing is, how can you prove that the bike isn`t his in the 1st place? It`s not like everyone carries receipts for their bikes. And there`s no real way of identifying who`s bike is who`s except for word of mouth. For all you know, he misplaced his keys for the lock (or forgot the combination if possible).

When I was a kid my dad bought me a new bike. He then painted it firey orange. I`ve never needed to lock it.

No one cared because it wasn`t their bike.

and you can get licenses for bikes. At least my local Police station has a program that registers a bike to a serial number so if it is stolen and recovered they know who the owner is.
