i really liked this... but i always wanted to respectfully ask why when its anime like this,is it that the characters are always drawn with eyes not of Asians complexion?

Because the west taught them that large, round eyes are preferred.

It`s sad how many asians have surgery just to make their eyes "bigger".

drex1x: "Asian eyes" takes more time to draw then "western eyes". When it comes to reducing time and cost the Japanese anime studios are simply masters.

You`d think a Japanese film about WW2 would be in some way biased against the US, but this film captures the cruelty on both sides. I don`t wanna spoil much, but the part where the mom was serving rice to her family and then to the main character and his little sister was messed up.

Yea, I can`t watch this movie again.

@Mr. Drex1x: Good question.
As far as I know it`s (it addition to reducing time and cost) it so make the characters look "cuter". You may notice that some villains are drawn with smaller "Asian" eyes.
Read into that what ever you want, but I think there is a lot of self loathing in the Asian psyche.

This is a good anime the story is very good but accordingly what the Japanese did to the Chinese is far worst then what the U.S. did to Japan.

^^No your quite right the Japanese managed 476 recorded rapes a day, whereas the American Occupation recorded only 300.

And that was not so much an American bash as it was an idiot one. The whole point of the movie was that all humans are capable of great cruelty.

Indeed we are all capable of bieng the greatest of saints or the most evil demons. The hardest part is finding a mix of the two that you are best suited to be. As for the destruction caused by the war, well shit happens thats why its war. Yes we Americans are nice to people we defeate especially if you look on a historical bases.
