I wonder why this is voted so low. I get the irony that someone is TELLING you to make up your OWN mind, but it`s valid none-the-less.

I would suggest getting news papers from outside the USA as well.

It will get voted up in due time. It was just some 4 power douche with sand in his vagina that probably didn`t watch the whole thing, and said "Don`t talk shit about Fox!"

Now, that being said, I wouldn`t vote this a 5/5. He makes some good points, but nothing new to most people. Everyone, but children, have a bias. That is, unless, you`ve spent your childhood sniffing paint and haven`t ever pondered any serious questions regarding this earth. By the time you reach a certain age, you`ve developed a virgin sense to how the world works, and no matter how hard you try to ignore it, this plays into your conception when absorbing new knowledge.

He starts off by blaming all the media for throwing up in our mouths, then tells you that you must watch/read all media to come up with your own conclusion. What should have been said, was go to the library, read a book on whatever subject you`re interested in, take a shit, don`t flush, rinse, wipe hands on pants and repeat.

In the end, no matter how many daily media sources you view, it`s still pre-determined media unless it is media that has been in print for a while. Pretty hard for a history book written pre-9/11 to have post 9/11 bias when it comes to the middle east struggle. Read a book written before a major event to better put the topic into context.

The daily media outlets have pretty much been turned into low budget soap operas with no T & A.

I see them as being metaphoric equals to insurance companies. Each one of them promises you the "better deal". In the end, the CEOs will sit back together and have a great laugh. When considering auto insurance, one company makes a deal to take on more high risk motorists. Those with moving violations such as speeding, DUI, getting head while driving backwards through a school zone and people who have a high risk of being in an accident...such as women, are put in a separate category with higher rates. Rest assured, the other companies that would deny this person are paying a small sum to accepting company to keep them off their customer database. They pay...they win.

In the end they all are secretly working together to make sure the populous think they are getting the better deal, while they all sit back and reap the benefits (YOUR MONEY!). Aflac!

The problem is that too many people just take what the read on the internet for granted. Ignorant people selectively reading information put out into the world by other ignorant people does not make an educated electorate. This is the problme with the 9/11 movement. We are all ignorant on certain subjects, and one expert does not make a statement true. Yet we continue to take the information we want to hear and ignore the other side. So we get people who believe in a conspiracy of dunces, that were able to exterminate several thousand of their own citizens, without leaving any thing more then a some circumstantial evidence which a few ignorant people on the internet turn into a smoking gun.

Techhead - I don`t Htae you, but if you mean opportunities, specifically getting a very big film financed or something similar then the US is the place to be; if you mean personal freedom to do things that you couldn`t do elsewhere you might want to have a quick wiki and learn that americans are only approximately as free as the rest of the developed world (19th for personal freedoms, but the results are very close at the top) and significantly less so in some important areas like freedom of the press (48th), free and fair democracy (17th) and tax burden (20th).

Nobody Htae`s you, nobody you should worry about anyway, but a little humility goes a long way.
