okay, i thought wolverine had only healing powers as a mutant and then the scientists named him weapon X. They then replaced his bones with indestructible metal (or so i heard) and the installed the claws. He went berserk and yada yada yada. Why does it show he had claws as a kid?! ::confused::

^^^^^^^^ He have more mutant abilities that healing, he could see things much further then normal people and better hearing and scent and those sharp bone claws before they fuse his whole skeleton with adamantium.

@veedub, as it has been stated he has bone claws, was born with them essentially. His powers manifested at the teenage years like most children, and he`s just really fucking old due to his healing ability. like plantation days. but his claws popped for the first time when a boy and saw his mom fucking around with the gardener i believe... was all revealed in the wolverine origins series. but really it was addressed before that when magneto ripped the adamantium from his bones through the pores of his skin making him almost insane after that but turns out the adamantium was retarding his natural powers of heightened animal-like senses and his healing factor. aka, feral wolverine.(my favorite). but yeah i dont exactly remember how he got it back on. but it was for the best because he was going nuts and i remember an issue where he was "hunting" a family that lived near the x mansion.
