wow what a dumbass. you can clearly see he moving his feet to tell his assistant ( the long hair guy ) to raise his hand at 11:06.

The cup trick is easy to explain too, the cup has some special feel to it so he felt the cup with his hand to tell if its the right one of now.

He fucking didnt belong in TED. He treated us like dumbass with all the mind control crap, well wrong place buddy.

I hope you realize, Ichigo_101, that he didn`t put the cups over the wooden things, so he couldn`t know where the cup with the special feel is.

Yeah the hand raising trick was a bit off, but the rest of it was legit, in the fact how all magic is legit, until you figure out what`s happening.

Edit: BTW the hand trick, when he says "Make sure you right thumb is on the bottom" he corrects someone and lets go of his hands, and when he re-grips, he does it differently, so if you pause it right after the shot goes to the audience and back to him, his arms are in a position where if you were to hold your hands normally together, and twist em upside down, your left arm would be just like his.

Ichigo makes a good point at the end though he is wrong about the assist. It is not necessary for the long haired guy to be in on it. People can trick themselves into thinking they are feeling something, especially if they are told "when your hand feels lighter... do this...". I would bet that people generally react the same way. After all, the guy never waited more than a few seconds to act, nor did the women wait more than a few second to act.

The reason Ichigo has a good point is that this wasn`t informative nor honest. The first trick was fake. In order to follow his direct procedures, you have to have your left elbow point out to twist your hand correctly. He does this in the beginning. After the camera changes and comes back though, his elbow is in so he twisted left hand the other way after he let go to "tell" a guy he wasn`t doing correctly.

As for the coke bottle, it was most likely some chemical reaction that was catalyzed by something that coated the shard.

Definitely not standard TED fair- especially since we could get this kind of entertainment from Darren Brown.

SPOILERS explains tricks, don`t read if you don`t want to know =]

all of his "tricks" are obvious. Without watching it twice (and only if you know what to look for) you can see how he makes excuses to create distractions. For the hand trick, he pointed out that someone had the wrong hand, giving him and opportunity to switch the position on his pointing hand. The car trick was only a matter of camera angle. The senses/pressure on the girl could have been set up (since we know he set up the raising hand trick, we can`t really trust him anymore), it also could have been done with air pressure from his hand movements (hence having her put up the sleeves). Guy wearing black and glasses was obviously an assistant as ichigo_101 had pointed out. Resonance explains the glass breaking trick. There`s several ways to do the cup trick and it really depends on his set up. One way is to have the cups at the right height, which are usually basic dixie cups, so that they pivot on the nail just enough to feel it. Another is that the platform for the nail is a sinkable type so you feel less resistance as you test push it. Notice the 3/4 layers of cups so that the "victim" doesn`t feel the end of the nail. So there`s a lot of ways and I think it was the latter but I couldn`t be 100% sure.

lol, if you throw a piece of porcelain at glass, it will break the glass. I was in a junk yard and the guy showed me that if you break the porcelain off the end of a spark plug and throw it at the windsheild of a car the windsheild just crumbles. Thats with tempered glass, not sure about the coke bottle, but I have to assume the two are related somehow.

Cameras all over the car, doesn`t take much these days to transmit a signal. By the way, the glasses in the video link I posted, are huge compared to the ones you can get on the european market right now.
