Is that even a decent test? That bird could have just viewed the string+chicken as a really long piece of prey, and pulled it all up on top of the branch.

Ravens r smarte tho.

Yeah ravens are smart (relatively) but I would love to see what sort of things you could train them at instead

obviously they can learn stuff, and they even pass their knowledge on to their fellow ravens (they watch and learn what the other ravens do)

such as the "Tokyo ravens" who crack nuts by throwing them at the pedestian (where you cross the road) and wait for a car to run them over, then wait for the lights to turn green and walk out and get them

It was just showing that Ravens have logic unlike alot of other birds is all, fascinating that such a simple test reveals so much!

^^Indeed, a very simple test but deceptively complex in that the string needed to be both raised and secured. Also note how the bird walks the thread along the branch, thus making it easier to loop and secure it without it slipping.
