An ATM with only 40 bucks? Yeah right, how convenient. This seems like a lame bit of disinfo aimed at trying to discourage repeats. I can`t take it at face value, with no proof available.

^I think you are absolutely right about that. I`d say about 97% of the time in videos like this they have some line like, "This criminal found out the hard way that crime doesn`t pay. Hes doing 10 years in a federal prison." The fact that they say this guy is still at large pretty much goes against the intention of this kind of program. That intention is of course masked by the so called entertainment value. The message is still clear. Crime doesn`t pay and we(the government) will bust your fucking door down and haul you off to jail if you try anything like this.

When I was a teen I worked in a gas station convenience store with an atm and later on in life I had an atm machine in a bar, in both places the atm was only stocked with a few hundred dollars and would be pretty much empty by the end of the night, I can believe it was just 40 bucks. Whoever operates the atm just puts more money in when it runs out. These aren`t bank atms.

Locally, someone pulled up to a bank drive through with a giant excavator on a trailer and ripped out an atm with it, that one had something like $4,000 in it but they caught the guy before he could figure out how to open it.

^ I agree, makes sense. Also, could have been out of service waiting to be refilled or something.

Still at large? Maybe gratuitous flamboyancy is the key to not getting caught. Hold up a store with a replica gun and you get busted on the spot, but plough a truck into a building and everyone goes "Whoaaa... I`m not following that guy."
Maybe if you demolish a 110-storey monument, everyone will go "Shit man, you`re GOOD at this. Go blow up some more things."
