Yea, they only eat dead flesh. I`ve seen doctors use them on a show some time ago. The scientists prevent the maggots from evolving into fly`s, so they can just keep eating dead flesh. But man, that`s freaky as hell, and I definitely didn`t need to see this before I sleep.

Erm maggots have had a huge revival in medicine recently and chances are that those are there as part of a medical treatment to clean the wound on his head as they certainly wouldn`t be the cause of it.
