All you Americans should hope InBev inproves Budweiser, it tastes like garbage water. You guys need to come to Belgium and taste what real beer is like.

^^ Sorry... the best beer in the world is Innis & Gunn... aged in oak barrels. It`s not Belgan, it`s Scottish.

But I agree with the Budweiser comment.

We can all agree that the best beer is in Europe! :D
So many countries, so many types of beer, so little time to do beer tourism...
Ah, I love my continent! :p

Are so many people so unaware that there`s a lot more to American beer than Budweiser, Miller, and Coors? You don`t think every one of your countries has the mass-market equivalent of piss water?

In fact, many American microbrews are based on age-old European traditions. Yeah, it took us a while to catch on, but give us some fucking credit already.

Americans just have no idea (in general) what good beer tastes like. Innis and Gunn is great if you`re into the cask flavour. I just wish people would expand their knowledge past the shite watery lagers that are mass marketed to them. Add don`t even mention light beer. Oh wow, you`re fucking awesome cause you can drink 18 of the bastards. Drink 2 pints of Maudite or Fin Du Monde and taste and feel what real beer is like. Also, Belgian beer rocks, Czech beer is pretty damn good too, and up here in Canada we have nailed down some tasty microbrews. End rant.

@Binary

while i share your sentiment of general american beer consumption and taste,it seems unfair to lump ALL americans together in this category. i, myself, have traveled through 7 european countries trying every beer i could. hands down: european beer is truely a delicacy and i am priviledged to have tried so many (dont ask me to recall and specific brands, i drank so much).

i would say (for the college crowd atleast) cheap beer = everyone gets fucked up together for little cost, drinking in this instance is more for the sake of social-fuckedupedness (new word?)and not so much the flavor or quality of the beer. now then; consider the cost of importing the beers of europe, let alone the overall availability. most americans just plain dont have access. while no craptastic american beers hold a candle to that of true craftsmanship, we work with what we got.

cheers!
