The Dollar is Doomed and the Fed's Days ...

In this very recent interview with Bloomberg Jim Rogers says Asia is the future, the dollar is a terribly flawed currency and he doesn't want to own any, oil will certainly pass $200/barrel soon, and the (privately owned) Federal Reserve will disappear within the next decade.

I think we are in for some very dark times ahead, but some say that market capitulation is close by, and that we will see somewhat of a rally. I think we will, but then we wil revert to back to some very shaky times. I would advise being in cash right now, with a smattering of gold and silver ETF`s.

The guy is wrong in saying that there has been no new oil discoveries - there has been at least two massive ones in Brazil this year that I know of. Of course, one must remember that he has his own agenda.

Personally, I believe that the rise in oil is speculator led, because it is a safe haven at the moment for when the markets crash. Normally this has been gold in the past, but this time oil is taking a front seat, due to its scarcity value.

Asia *is* the future...but that doesn`t mean America is doomed. It`s not like Britain slipped into oblivion after the American economy overwhelmed its empire.

The incessant pessimism of some people is beyond ridiculous. As long as we don`t have another global war, the emerging prosperity of Asia is going to be good for everyone.

mandarin is pretty easy to speak. all the sounds are compatible with english, there`s no silent "letters," the phonetics do not really have multiple ways to pronounce, etc. there are few articles and limited past/present/tense stuff to learn. the syntax is a little similar to english. reading and writing is hard though, with the pictographs. at least with alphabetical languages, you can guess at the pronounciation.

please... even if hte dollar fails and the fed reserve is gone... english will still be the defacto world language... mandarin will never become this unless every other country is vanquished.

English shares the same writing as many of the european and south and central american languages.

America might fail in the future but this will be only temporary but english will never fail unless the world fails

For some reason I keep hearing about a new top most difficult language to learn. At one point people said that about American English, Norwegian...The British Foreign Office decided that Basque followed closely with Hungarian topped the list. German and Russian languages use a punctuation system said to the most difficult.

Calling something the most difficult is a way of setting one up for failure. An autistic kid learned Norwegian in one week. Then was able to converse w/ a news caster about his endeavor of learning Norwegian in a week. If you can`t learn any language in 2 years, you are stupid and some might say in need of sterilization.


*Then I`m lucky to have relative pitch with my hearing. I`d do just fine, my wife on the other hand...

^ there is a difference in English and Mandrin.

Mandrin is a "tone based" language. If you`re tone deaf, or just can`t grasp the tone based language scheme your F`ed in the A.
