Hang on now, this does not ring true. Everyone knows Israel is the aggressor in all of the mid east wars. Remember when Iraq had to send missiles into Israel to defend itself when it reclaimed it`s southern province.
This is all Zionist Jewish Revisionist Neo Nazi Pro American Propaganda.

Or.............. Perhaps the arabs want to destroy Israel?

The arabs were just trying to recapture their own land that the Israelis captured during the six day War. and it was the Israelis who started the six day war with a surprise attack on Egypt and Syria. Israelis always use the excuse that the Arabs will destroy them for their own aggressive policies against the Arabs. The arabs never had any chance of defeating the Israeli army, as the Israeli army is much superior to all of the arab armies, mostly due to weapons supplied to them by the US.

Sometimes it seems that all the unrest in the Middle east actually suits Israel.

^ Hey asswipe last time I checked Egypt had massed 100,000 soldiers and 1000 tanks on Israel`s border in 1967 right after they expelled the UN buffer zone forces from the Sinai....then they refused entry into the Suez canal to all Israeli shipping

if Mexico/Canada put 100,000 troops and 1000 tanks on the US border I sure as hell would hope we would strike first too

frankly, I think it serves the arabs right to lose land in a war that they started

^^ HEY moron, why don`t you get your head out of you ass and get some history lessons. Israel started by taking arab lands by claiming it`s their rightious holy place of ancient times. The arabs made a coalition to try to recapture what was taken from them in the first place. Of course they lost due to american support otherwise Israel forces would have been overrun for sure. And one of the main reasons for US support to Israel is because the US wants a strong influence in the Middle East.

SO FUCK THE US AND FUCK ISRAEL.

^^Hey douchebag, why don`t YOU learn your history. It was not Arab land. The land was in British control. They gave the U.N. the right to vote on what to do with the land, and they voted by a majority to split the land for an Israeli state. Mufasa is right that egypt amassed troops on israel`s border. In fact all the surrounding arab countries were preparing to take out Israel, of course they not only had the right but it was necessary to their survival to strike first. The Arabs lost land in a war they started with the intention to completely destroy Israel and ended up losing their land. They no longer have any right to it.

First the father of the semites, abraham is from iraq is an arab; moses is an arab, the jews are arabs and jesus is an arab. thus israel is arab land. So this claim that palestines are immigrants is not true since the israelis of the past are immigrants themselves from iraq.

Just becuase the british controlled the land at one point does not erase the history of the land. with the logic that since they controlled the land it is not arabic why should they respect the religious claim of zionists? why support one religion over other ones to create a country...not very democratic.

The UN situation is unfortunate because the arabs at the time did not have good representation. so of course it was not in their favor.

there is a letter written by an arab leader i read before he sent to the american president. i forget who it was and he says a lot of the things of why those things came to be and how it is not fair. trying to find it, but i do not remember his name...if anyone knows thats why i am asking... he wrote the letter a while ago prolly in 50`s. please tell me.

The real world eh? Seems like your version of reality makes a lot more sense than these little kids. Your version of past and how they are meant to be understood is your version of reality.

there are many versions of history when the understandings of past events are different. hence there is bias. What i said are facts analyzed differently to come to a logical understanding. But is it biased? seems quite accurate but different to the spoon feeding of what certain people like to remember.

So instead of belittling people, try to criticize their arguments and not try to insult their credibility. And you would be surprised what some of these nerds are capable of when they are provoked...I would not label all of them pussies.

Here are some additional information to this documentary which is a little bit biased I have to say. I don`t blame them though, in a time of war, every side glorifies their achievements.

The hole between the 2nd and 3rd Egyptian army was found thanks to the USA satellite and spy airplanes. Without that, this would have been a complete triumph to the Egyptian army.

The documentary does not mention the vast difference in man power between the Egyptian army and the Israeli army. Remember, Egypt has at least ten times the population of Israel. So, even with the breakthrough to the east bank, the number of tanks/soldiers is limited compared to the 2nd Egyptian army.

Resources were a problem for both armies. But as the documentary mentions, USA interferes again with a speedy line of support to the Israeli army in both equipments and food supplies. Yet again, without this help, the Egyptian would have claimed this war easily.

Finally, I don`t see any mention of the deadlock position. It mentions the passage and surrounding of the the 2nd Egyptian army as a turn around and a complete victory to Israel (?). The third army was still free to move. By retreating to the east bank, Egypt would have annihilated the Israeli forces on the east bank. Alternately, the first Egyptian army, the last defense of Egypt which resides in the capital, could have advanced to the canal surrounding the Israel forces. But with the way things have been going, the USA would probably interfere to prevent such massacre. This would put Egypt at a huge disadvantage since the 1st army is the last resort. And thus the deadlock was a better situation, although it puts the 2nd army in a bad position.

To sum up, both sides won something. Egypt achieved a military victory over an army which thought it`s the supreme power in Middle East and all arabs are sheep. They got Sinai back to the last inch. Israel got recognition from Egypt, which is may be the most important country in the middle east "politically speaking". Also, a peace treaty that guarantees no furhter interference from Egypt is a huge gain to Israel. All Israel needed at that time, was more time to grow, expand and increase their military power. That`s why if another war breaks between Egypt and Israel right now, the results would definitely be in Israel favor.

Israel is probably one of the best actors in the world today, being able to play the victim no matter what. "Woo we bombed a couple of families on a Palestinian beach, but it`s not our fault, you see the terrorists keep shooting their home made rockets at us, so we just had to fire a few tomahawks back at them"
