Not sure you can congratulate that one ... it seems like pointless loss of life.

Imagine any of those men from either side now meeting in a pub in present day without knowing anything of war ... would they fight?

Unlikely. The opposite has a much better chance of being true.

Zaiyar, back then without war or religion. Life was Dead pointless and dead boring.

They welcomed fights, just like the drunken man at the pub welcomes a good scuffle.

Kings took advantage of mens idea of a Good time .

i.e. to fight.
