There is a British show which does the whole story much more justice. Harold was fucked, after a stunning surprise victory against the vikings, he has to deal with William. He starts of winning, but his own troops end up getting slaughtered cause they can`t keep from chasing the Normans as they fall back. Thus the Saxons ended up under French rule.
