The man`s name is Palahniuk, Chuck Palahniuk.
Okay, this question is like the elephant in the living room that nobody mentions (as, I believe, Mr. Carlin once put it):
Who actually read the novel? (Which was published before this year already)
This trailer didn`t convince me to watch the movie, but I can recommend the book - Fight Club is more interesting to read than to watch as well... and that movie was quite entertaining.
Whoever is into this kind of cynical/philosophical stuff may enjoy Palahniuk - his writing style is awesome.

I just finished reading Choke a few days ago! I had no clue that they were coming out with a movie for it. I would never have guessed this one would be made into a movie. The trailer, I will admit, was shit. The actual book itself is so much more gritty and unrelenting. I can already tell some of the things from the book have been changed, but some scenes are showed here.

The book itself centers on Victor Mancini, a sexaholic who gets money through deception in order to keep his deranged, anti-government, anti-conformity, anti-everything mother alive. The way he does this is by going to restaurants, and pretending to choke (hence the title). After choking and making miniature heroes, he exploits them for their money using their sympathy for him. The book was awesome, and for those wishing to get some reading done, it might be a good pickup. If not this one, Survivor and Fight Club are the ones to get.
