That is awful. Most people rate public speaking ahead of death in their worst fears so it`s really no surprise that someone wets their pants when confronted with it.

I feel so sorry for this guy.

its obviously staged, why would anybody not speak behind the podium unless they had something to show. especially when reading from notes.

I`m inclined to agree with Dave. A lot of the laughing and jeering came pretty early when it was a small spot. Usually the audience is already pretty far away. And, as noted, he wasn`t even standing behind the podium, and made not attempt to get behind it.

^To back that up, if you`re nervous, you`ll be far more likely to try and create a barrier between you and your audience.
That said, why would you stage it like this; handing the mic back and walking off?
