Hi all, Life Science major here. These look like cells that had their genetic sequences modified to include Green Fluorescent Protein (GFR), or other colored proteins, at the end of the protein sequences that originate in the cell. This results in the production of proteins that are fluorescent and can be observed under a fluorescence microscope. This allows the tracking of the locations of the target protein or structure within the cell when experimental controls and stress are applied.

If this is correct, the video is probably showcasing a new fluorescent microscope that has double the resolution of it`s predecessor, thus enabling it to differentiate fluorescent particles that are closer together.

Its a mouse cell. They used florescent dyes to color the DNA, cell membrane, and nucleus pores different colors. What is special about the microscope they`ve developed is that it can see 40 nanometer structures, and can produce 3D models and images.
