I am so sick and tired of these asshole directors changing shit just to make the movie "better." Same shit happened in X-Men 3 which had so many things wrong with it I don`t want to get into it and that fucking asshole movie Fantastic Four: Rise of Silver Surfer. Galactus as a cloud pissed me the fuck off and the Ultimate Nullifier stops Galactus.

I still get chills when I hear that music start up. John Williams is an amazing composer.

A lot of people complained about the island of kryptonite. Sure, it didn`t make much sense, but compare Superman Returns with the magic superman-emblem scene or with other movies like Hulk(not the new ed norton one), the awful fantanstic four movies, spider-man 3, or come on, most super-hero movies made. Even the original superman movies weren`t that good, and they got really bad when they changed directors, getting rid of Donner.

But none of that changes the character of Superman, the character we go to the movies hoping to find. All things considered, I would say Superman Returns most certainly wasn`t the worst in the franchise. I`m still a fan, and I will gladly go see the sequels, provided they don`t train wreck like X-Men 3, or Spiderman 3.

Also, to address the comment about a tribute to a fictional character: what the fuck is wrong with that. Most of these comic-book characters have the moral guidance and character their creators wished to have. They are, for many children even today, role-models and a great way to develop a moral compass. I can`t think of a single person who embodied and upheld the same ideals as most fictional heroes. In fact, most people society tends to idolize are reprobates, at least to some capacity. So shove your cynicism right up your ass, fuck-stick.

Superman can overcome the effects of the kryptonite on the island because he supercharged himself from the sun right before he dove into the ocean to lift the island from the ocean`s floor. He has sufficient energy stored in him to override the effects of kryptonite for a few moments. You`re a fucking idiot if you hadn`t noticed this before. Go kill yourself.

All the X-Men movies were shit. Bryan Singer sucks at superhero movies. And then they put him in charge of Superman Returns. I was so fucking pissed when I heard that. The movie wasn`t much of a disappointment to me because I didn`t go in with high hopes.

On the other hand, I didn`t expect the Batman Begins movie to be very good either, but I was completely wrong there. It was pretty damn good, despite Katie Holmes. I`ll be looking forward to The Dark Knight.

^ Well no, you`re almost right, as it takes DAYS for him to recharge his power from the sun. It was just poor plot and writing.

What i want to see is superman fight someone as strong as him, it makes for a borning movie when he flys, saves some flys somewhere else and saves someone.
The only fight scene in Superman returns is where hes on the landmass of kryptonite(some how doenst feel the effects) so hes powerless, and then oldman lex puches him. Oh myy...how exciting.
I want to see fights like in smallvill, when the villins get out of the phantom zone.
People who watch smallville will know what im talkin about, when thier is a fight club and he is forced to enter.

The plot of Superman Returns was fucking retarded. It was a completely misguided movie. But compared to the previous 4 movies, I had more fun watching it simply for the awesome visuals.

Batman will always be superior in every way.
