In a FWD car thats designed to handle, when you let off the gas sharply, they snap into oversteer.

i don`t see what makes them ricers, the car in front looked like an ordinary stock car and we can`t tell what the car the cameraman was riding is like. but anyone who weaves around in traffic like that should get hit by a flying turd filled with razor blades tipped with cyanide and smallpox

Very simple. The weight distribution on FWD cars is meant to be as much to the front as possible to give traction to the front wheels especially during acceleration.

The big problem with that is that because there`s not much weight at the rear wheels, if you`re dumb enough to smash the brake pedal and do an extreme turn like that ricer did, almost all of the weight will shift to the front wheels and there will be almost no weight at all pushing the rear wheels to the tarmac. The rear wheels will then suddenly lose traction and the car will uncontrollably and dangerously oversteer (the rear end breaks loose and tries to "go to the front").

FWD is meant to be a cheap and dummy proof way to make everyday driving safe without doing extreme manoeuvres. They`re not meant to be sportscars.


And that sound of two ricer cars colliding was music to my ears.
