I`ve seen the show a few times and watching this clip shows me that they had to have seen the video previously to doing this... At least once. Not to take away from the talent cuz its still impressive.

Actually, they just perform their acts in front of the green screen and that`s it. The background effects are added later during the editing process. Basically, the animation/background is made to flow with the improv they`re doing, not the other way around.
