^ Nah, you could kill celebrities, but that wouldn`t end celebrity worship, more celebrities would just be created. What needs to happen is a fundamental change in culture, most people would need to learn to cope without America`s Next Top Hooker and get used to actively trying to learn as much as they could about life instead of relying on tv to tell them how to live. In other words, it requires effort, which is in short supply if obesity trends are anything to go by.

I do wish BMW would roll out some hybrid cars.

Also I`ve found pretty much all major news sources have bowed down to the awesome might that is celebrity news. I believe Anna Nicole was a story on the CBC and BBC tsk tsk...

solution: make the Africans celebrities(give them slutty cloths and photograph them drunk staggering out of clubs)so when they get killed by war and famine... it`s news.

Yeah I also watch overseas news when I do watch any "tv" at all.

You really would have to have something fundamentally wrong with you if you watch/trust any American news. Not saying overseas ones are perfect, but comparatively they are damn near.

media producers, who (like everyone else) were already treading a course for as much control as they could get, basically flipped the hell out when they realized just how much they could get away with, especially over the last 20 years as digital tech replaced analogue and it just got so easy to put instant spin on stories.

This is a pretty major frontier in the struggle for man`s freedom on a global scale. And it isn`t what we thought it`d be. I mean, WE are big brother for one thing! That has worked out for us, not them. The gov`t wants superior control of these technologies to use to control us, but ultimately we are (and always will be) the ones inventing and using creatively those very technologies. Gov`t cannot keep up with us because of that, and so they put their cameras up on street corners, but we have them in our cel phones, both sides prepared to document the transgressions of the other. And there are way more citizens with cel cameras than street cams, and each one of us has the capability to take what we`ve seen and show the entire world in only seconds if we really had to. Gov`t relies on group thinking, and this is it`s chain. Gov`ts teeth are its individuals - those citizens like us who creatively think and can respond quickly with the same infinite potential.. they are trying to steer that ship of structure/procedure as agilely as possible, but it cannot ever be as fast as the individuals comprising a free public.

It is why scientology fails against Anonymous and it mirrors the same problem with amok gov`ts, so personally - I`m encouraged.
