Awesome to see some great people at work instead of the usual Paris Hilton type bullshit in day to day media (yawn).

BTW I also agree.

^due to budget cuts they do not have as much "bank" as Paris and Mtv didnt jump at their show "The Real Off World"when multiple probes are forced to share a planet together and stop being nice.

You know at first I thought this mission was the biggest waste of money ever. I did some research and it turns out it only cost half a billion dollars to make this trip. We could have been to mars and back 160 times instead of having a money war. Anyway i`m happy that we can make it to mars and have hopes of buildng self sufficient space stations yadda yadda. Perhaps the first step is to perfect a non wasteful way to live on earth. After-all, we won`t ever need to struggle to use space if we take care of the gigantic opportunity we have already. Even if we do find something it`s not going to matter...and if other life forms where to be found i`d be quite embarrassed for them to see the way humans argue like little fags over basically everything. Most of our world leaders are considered retarded (by definition) soooo yea.

first of all i think it is fake, how did they get the video veiw of the probe below the lander, unless this is a computer cgi of what the landing should be. the only way to get the underside view is if the camera in on the ground already.

^^^This is a CGI, just so poeple like you who dont have imagination to understand what they are happy about every few moments.

It must have been very nerve wracking for NASA in these last 5 minuts.

5/5

I already seen this at least 10 times. Grats to Nasa. However I doubt there is anything on Mars, or this universe. I fear we are alone in this universe and it will take much longer to explore further. 6/5

The most amazing thing to me is that everything that happened there was done by the lander with no human interaction. The lander successfully touched down on an area of Mars we`ve never been to, couldn`t see, and know very little about other than satellite pictures. Everyone was just sitting and watching it happen while that lander did all the work. Amazing job of all the men and women who made such a feat possible, and incredible that we have the technology to do so.

Cool! Isn`t there also canadian technology on that spacecraft? (I think I heard that the other day on the tube)

demakowski, they called up the Decepticons to monitor the spacecraft and film it from multiple angles. Decepticons aren`t all bad, you know. :P
