Bashir was dead when this massacre happened. When Bashir died all of Lebanon died with him. When bashir died Sharon was physically looking through the rubbles to find his body in Beirut. There are pictures to prove it. Bashir Gemayel lives in the heart of every lebanese christian and every lebanese is a Bashir.

Israel didn`t "unofficially ordered the massacre."... Under Sharon (than the general of the military) Israeli troops allowed the christian militia in, and than just watched as the massacre happened... Sharon did get a half-assed punishment for this action in israel, but later the public showed him love by making him the leader of the "only democracy in Middle East"

shit man, just because history refers to them as christian militias it doesn`t mean they are representing christianity or the bible told them to do it. that`s like saying Hezbollah is a representation of all true muslims because of their name (the party of god)... I understand how that would hurt some christians, but Im a muslim and on no day I go by without hearing "muslim extremism" and "islamic fascism[which to me could only mean an italian muslim]" "islamism" and all kinds of things that could be frustrating. But yah, I have never read any other form of reference to the milia that killed those palestinians, hence I refer to them the same way, maybe out of ignorance.

The Christians militias being talked about in this film are actually are actual Lebanese Christian fighters who were trained by the Israeli military and strategically sent to the Palestinian refugee camps to commit the massacre.
This is documented in the award winning documentary MASSAKER. If you want to know more this documentary is amazingly good and very shocking.

Here is a description of the film as it was sent to me as part of a local screening:

In 1982 over a single three-day period, 1000 - 3000
Palestinian civilians, mostly women, children and the
elderly, were murdered in Sabra and Shatila. The exact
number of victims killed, abducted or both between the
16th and 18th of September 1982 is still unknown. The
suspected perpetrators are mainly from the Forces
Libanaises, a Christian militia allied to Israel. The
Israeli army arranged the logistics of the massacre and
was commanded by the former Minister of Defence and future
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.

In 1982, the massacre in the Lebanese Palestinian camps
shocked the world; today it is (almost) forgotten although
it formed the template for subsequent massacres: for
example in Rwanda or in the Yugoslavian wars.

Unanswered questions come up over and over again: what
drives people to such excesses of cruelty, and how can
those who committed such crimes live on?

MASSAKER is a psycho-political study, in content and
aesthetics, about six suspects who took part in the
massacres of Sabra and Shatila, not only because they were
ordered to do so but also for their own motives. The film
incorporates the psychological dispositions of the
suspects with their political surroundings and approaches
the phenomenon of collective violence through the accounts
of the perpetrators. Without intending to reconstruct the
massacres of Sabra and Shatila verbatim, MASSAKER shows a
previously untold version of the atrocities through the
intertwined stories of six protagonists: the version of
the people who committed the crimes.

(A)e Israeli Defence Force (IDF) had completely surrounded the Sabra-Shatila camps, and controlled all entrances and exits by the means of checkpoints
(B)IDF tanks began shelling the camps
(C)Ariel Sharon and Chief of Staff Rafael Eitan met with the Lebanese Phalangist militia units, inviting them to enter the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps
(D)The first unit of 150 Phalangists, armed with guns, knives and hatchets entered the camps at 6:00 p.m. Immediately the unit began slitting throats, axing, shooting, and raping, often taking groups outside and lining them up for execution. During the night the Israeli forces fired illuminating flares over the camps
(E)11:00 p.m. a report was sent to the IDF headquarters in East Beirut, reporting the killings of 300 people, including civilians. The report was forwarded to headquarters in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, where it was seen by more than 20 senior Israeli officers
Further reports of these killings followed through the night. Some of these reports were forwarded to the Israeli government in Jerusalem and were seen by a number of Israel`s senior officials.

According to the Kahan Commission`s report (based on a Mossad agent`s report), the Chief of Staff concluded that the Phalange should "continue action, mopping up the empty camps south of Fakahani until tomorrow at 5:00 a.m., at which time they must stop their action due to American pressure."

Was this rotoscoped (or whatever that`s called where you film actual scenes and then animate over the top of them)? This level of fluidity and detail shits on anything I`ve seen from Japan, and makes Disney look like a goddamn flick-book.
